Inch valves are designed for hydrostatic travel systems of mobile machines as a means for superior control of the main hydraulic generator control pressure with automatic speed control. They are used to brake or stop the machine quickly and to start it slowly when automatic control is not in operation. When the rod moves, there is a controlled connection between the two semi-spaces of the servo cylinder of the hydraulic generator.
